What If You Dared To Dream Bigger?

“What you think about, you bring about.” Dream bigger.
A guide for dreaming bigger. Step by step.

I have proven that saying to myself time and time again, “What we think about, we bring about.”

The other day I came across an incredibly inspiring Will Smith video that was a great reminder of how much our thoughts affect our lives and, simply put, how thoughts become things.

One of the moments that touched me most is when he said, “Your mind is the wildest, freest place where you can have everything you have ever dreamed of… We stop ourselves in places where the world is going to move out of our way.”

And, when we do that we are essentially ‘training our minds not to dream’.

Love him!

My Biggest Dreams

I must admit, it has been such a long time since I have challenged myself to dream bigger, which is maybe why Will’s video captured my attention.

It begs the question, why might we not allow ourselves to dream bigger, even in our own, private thoughts?

Ever found yourself shooting yourself down for having unrealistic thoughts about what you wanted? I have. YIPES.

That being said, some of my last, biggest dreams were my wanting to have a meaningful relationship, get married, buy a home, have children and travel the world whenever we wanted. That has come to fruition.

A bit of backstory, before getting engaged to my husband (remind me to tell you about how I manifested him toooooo!👀) I used to visualize things about him and our current life as vividly as I could muster.

I had a notebook of photos and notes that I would ‘meditate on’ every day during my commute to the city (to an accounting job I loathed).

During my visualizations and meditations on my crowed, annoying commutes I would allow my self to escape to my journal and photos.

I would open myself to feel the wonderful, exciting, and inspiring feelings of being, doing, and having the life I desired.

I did my affirmations on repeat, even missing my stop a few times! AndI dreamed bigger without really putting a “title” to it.

At the time I had asked myself, “If I woke up tomorrow and had my dream life, what would that look like? What would it feel like?”

I wrote every detail that jumped out to me as important.

And now I am living a life that I didn’t know how to have or would come to be.

I just knew I wanted more in my experience.

Writing out my dreams and desires, seing them in my minds eye, and allowing myself to feel good about the possibilities that they were already mine is very uplifting.  “If you can hold it in your mind, you can hold it in your hand.”

I later learned how visualizations paired with emotions is an extremely powerful combo.

What If You Dared To Dream Bigger?

An Invitation

Now, here I am, ready to challenge myself again and would like to invite you along to dream with me.

If we allow our minds to go to the “impossible”, where would it go?

Can you dream bigger?

Should I dream bigger?

How to dream bigger? Start here.

Start where you are: No prior experience needed.

I always start any endeavor by regularly watching the thoughts I keep.

Fantasize about what you DO want to happen, try not to entertain what you DON’T want to happen.

That which you focus on grows.

Be grateful for what you have right now, because if you can’t appreciate a little, you surely won’t appreciate “a lot”.

Moreover, to keep my gratitude in check I stay on top of my gratitude journal to remind myself to be grateful for all of the wonderful things that are already a part of my life (Click here for more info).

Sidenote – For anyone who might need to hear this, feeling the uplifting benefits of being more positive and mindful of the thoughts we keep is immediate.

It is important to repetitively visualize yourself achieving that which you desire in your mind’s eye. Allow yourself to feel happy, excited, proud or whatever emotion you’d feel after achieving your goals.

Personally, I have no problem physically smiling to my own thoughts like i’m coo coo for Coacoa Puffs.  Hahaha!

I have affirming self-talk by saying positive things to myself on a regular basis.  I aim to look out for the good far more than I entertain the negative (‘cause Negative Nancy will crash a party in a heartbeat).

See (visualizations), think (affirmations), hear (affirmations) or write (journaling) something often enough and you will most definitely start to believe it.

Keep in mind, thoughts that are conveyed, repeatedly, with genuine emotions are the ones that get locked into our subconscious mind, forming our beliefs (who we think we are). Which determines how we act (behave) drawing experiences to us.

Act As If

Believe you can have whatever you want, and feel the emotions that come with achieving your desires, and your belief will create the fact.

Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become reality” ~ Earl Nightingale.

Change your thoughts and you will change your life.
