How I am Making The Most of my Time Spent Social Distancing
I can’t believe it has been almost 3 months since I last posted!
Times flies for a busy mama social distancing!
Here is how I have made the most of my time being socially distanced, so far:
Marriage
Celebrated 9 years of marriage to my love! We kept it simple and simply enjoyed each other’s company. However, we are planning to do it “big” for our 10th anniversary! If y’all know me at all, you know it involves travel!
Hanging with my little family
We have been working to keep our children up on their studies via workbooks and online tutoring. And I am so grateful to have a partner who is as passionate about our children’s education as I am. He’s very proactive with or without my availability and that feels amazing!
A Road Trip to Detroit, LORD YES!
We took a trip that I almost opted out of because I felt like the drive would be too much, but after some convincing from my husband it happened. And I am beyond happy it did! I was reluctant because of the one-way, 10 hour commitment. However, we broke it into two day drive and made our stopping point an outlet mall. Mamas has got some new clothes!
My sister was also on the trip, she drove a separate car, and we stayed in the same hotel. It was beautiful and so much fun! We’d get the kids to bed and chat late into the night while sipping wine and sharing our fashions finds.
Falling off of my exercise routine, but easily and quickly hopped right back on it after my 23 year old niece complimented my butt during my trip home
As many of you know I was killing my commitment to working out regularly! However, I fell off for about a month, but during my trip my 23yr old niece asked if I workout and complimented my butt! And I was like, “What niece?! You’re about to have aunty drop and do 100 squats right now! Haha! Needless to say, but upon my return home I promptly resumed my daily exercise.
Cooking & cleaning, which feels like all day!
During the week I cook 3+ times a day, not including snacks, and my goal is to always give my family whole foods. And, not gon’ front, those Morning Star corndogs are CRAZY GOOD (and so hard to find these days)! Though whole food is the goal, Kraft Mac & Cheese has been saving me. Especially since they have gone mostly natural with their ingredients. As vegetarians our main protein sources are, legumes, eggs, avocado, cheese, and yogurt, so I base my cooking around those foods. I used to do nuts before having kids, but my son has a serious nut allergy so I, of course, avoid them for cooking.
Got into Tweeting, then found myself being too affected by the barrage world events and politics (deleted all of them)
Watching world events unfold, especially ones we can “control” frustrates me so much sometimes and, on a whim, I found myself taking my frustrations out on Twitter. I also found myself dwelling on things that are not aligned with energy that I want to be a part of and just not what I want to be focused on. So, I unfollowed a bunch of dope ass, smart people and got back to the lanes I feel most productive and happy in: Positivity and Gratitude. And speaking of gratitude…
I am Grateful
I am incredibly grateful to be loved and to be here sharing with all of you. We’re living through a historical time that our grand children will read about and be amazed by. And even with its many challenges I am so happy to be here experiencing it all. Life is beautiful, always, and I am so grateful to be here to feel and see it all, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
As you can see I have been keeping plenty busy and my spirits up.
However, through all of this I have been missing all of you and can happily see that so many of you have been well! I miss our chats, connecting, and zoom meetups!
I am so happy to be back! And more than anything, I am sorry for “ghosting”. I will do better.
I will also be uploading a bit of a vlog I captured, I’m so looking forward to editing again too!
THANK YOU
Thank you for riding and checking in with me anyway, I appreciate you.😭
Love y’all, talk soon!
Love,
LaRie
