5 STEPS: CHANGING MY MIND & CHANGING MY LIFE
(Want to change your life, too? Keep reading.)
Gooday!
I hope you’re having a great week. I am really excited about today’s post, so let’s dive in!
In order to change my life, the very first thing I had to do was decide what I wanted, in detail. I didn’t judge myself, I just chose freely. Life is a catalog of options from which we can order any experience or thing we desire (within in the realm of human possibility, of course).
So, what would it be?
Remember, everything that has ever been done, was first an idea in someone’s mind. Whatever “it” is, “it” is mine to have.
Here is what I have decided on: More growth in my career and business connections. Not only more money more in quality life experiences, more travel, paid press trips, more resources, more enriching people connections, philanthropy…bigger, better, greater!
*Side note: I just re-read Think and Grow Rich and realized I need to decide on an exact dollar amount. More on that later.
I have drastically changed and transformed my life a number of times in the past and here I am, ready to do it again.
Let me also start by saying, I already have a pretty balanced and happy life. I have a devoted husband of 8 years, 2 beautiful, smart children, I do work that is fun and inspiring, and I live a life that is more than I even knew to dream of. That being said, I also love personal development and challenging myself.
Honestly, for some time those things that I want to experience, philanthropy, more leisure time with my family, paid press trips, more luxury travel, more business connections. They all seemed like such HUGE accomplishments that I questioned, subconsciously, whether I could have them or if I were even worthy of such amazing things. Hard for me to write and admit, but I did.
I have always gotten what I have wanted, especially once I realized the power of The Secret (more on that later). So why had I been denying myself when it came to these other things I deemed “bigger” be any different? Were they too great for me?
However, I have been snapped out of that way of thinking (by lots of reading on how the subconscious works) and I now understand that I must first BELIEVE, WITH FEELING, I can have those things I desire in order to physically experience them.
After some studying, self-reflecting…the light has been switched back on again y’all! AHHHHH!
I. AM.
I… Am.
I am all of that which I desire, right now.
I am her!
With all of my reignited understanding, I asked myself, if I were to walk, talk, and behave like the woman that has risen to such a level of accomplishment, what would that look like?
How would I speak to myself and others?
What would my physical appearance be like?
What would my attitude be like?
What would my circle of friends be like?
What would my daily schedule look like?
These are a few of the many questions I had for myself, and answered, setting out on this life changing journey.
I now understand that even ACTING as HER I can do, be, have, and experience anything I want (by the way our SUBCONCIOUS doesn’t know the difference between “acting/pretending” or reality, it believes whatever you tell it, repeatedly with FEELING, and makes it so).
Act as if and your subconscious will make it your physical reality.
“You must be in the nature (or rise to the consciousness) of the things asked for so you can receive them.”
-At Your Command, Neville Goddard
5 STEPS: CHANGING MY MIND & CHANGING MY LIFE (continued)
With all of the above being said, it brings me back to one of my favorite poems (planning to commit this poem to memory and be able to recite it verbatim, by heart):
Thinking -Walter D. Wintle
If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don’t.
If you’d like to win, but you think you can’t,
It is almost a cinch you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’ve lost;
For out in this world we find
Success begins with a person’s will
It’s all in the state of mind.
If you think you’re outclassed, you are;
You’ve got to think high to rise.
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win the prize.
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man;
But sooner or later the person who wins
Is the one who thinks he can!

Now that I have an even better understanding of my capabilities, I have set out to master these 5 steps for transforming my mind and life.
5 STEPS: CHANGING MY MIND & CHANGING MY LIFE (continued)
Here are 5 steps I am currently taking to change my life and rise to the consciousness of that which I desire:
- Transforming my subconscious mind.
- Visualizations/ Vision Board
- Taking Action (How to)
- Write an Affirmation
- Recite Affirmation Daily
- *Journaling (bonus)
- *Scripting (bonus)
If you would like to change your life, please join me in this 5-step process for huge and lasting change.
1. Transforming my subconscious mind.
Let’s talk about the star of the show, our SUBCONSCIOUS.
What is our subconscious?
Our subconscious is a memory bank of experiences, habits and beliefs that control our everyday lives. Everything that you have ever seen, done, heard or thought is stored there. Our beliefs are formed and stored in our subconscious as well.
Whether you’re riding your bike, playing piano, knowing to not touch a hot stove, blink, breathe, do a once complicated dance move, end up dating the same type of person over and over… Yep, subconscious.
Our subconscious controls our thoughts and our actions (or, for many, inaction).
Why would that matter?
It matters because our thoughts control our mood/feelings. And our mood/feelings control our actions and our behavior. Our behavior has a direct effect on how we live our life. And what we get out of life.
One of my favorite quotes is, “We are what we think about most of the time”. Generally, think good thoughts and generally, you will feel good. Think negative thoughts… feel negative, poor moods.
Our subconscious mind forms our habits and controls 95% of our lives.
Your current way of being is controlled by what you think or have habitually thought about time and time again (without effort). Change those thoughts and you will change your life. Our subconscious is not to argue whether those thoughts are right or wrong, true or false. It simply says, “Your wish is my command”. “Wish” or tell it something differently and it will obey.
Run your thoughts or someone else will run them for you (feelings generated by the music you listen to has an effect. Imagery shown on Instagram has an effect. The “entertainment” you consume has an effect, your job, another person…you see where this is going?). We must protect our thoughts from things that do not water the sacred garden that is our mind.
Start where you are: No prior experience needed.
I have started and I already feel the benefits of being more positive and mindful of thoughts I keep.
I repetitively see myself achieving that which I desire in my mind’s eye and I allow myself to feel happy, excited, proud or whatever emotion achieving my goals elicit that day. I have affirming self-talk by saying positive things to myself on a regular basis. I look for the good far more than I entertain the negative.
See (visualizations), think (affirmations), hear (affirmations) or write (affirmations) something often enough and you will most definitely will start to believe it.
Remember, thoughts that are conveyed, repeatedly, with genuine emotions are the ones that get locked into our subconscious forming our beliefs (who we think we are), which determines how we act (behave).
Believe you can have whatever you want and feel the emotions that come with achieving your desires, and your belief will create the fact.
I once read somewhere that the definition of belief is “the repetition of same thoughts over and over for a long period of time.”
Whatever, we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become reality” ~ Earl Nightingale.
Change your thoughts and you will change your life.
2. Visualizations (with FEELING! It creates a lasting effect that sticks)
Visualizations = Mental movies.
-Make your thoughts mental movies that you write, star in, and direct! You are Will Smith baby! WOOOOOOOOO!
-Do a vision board (want to see mine? CLICK HERE.)
Remember, the subconscious doesn’t know if it is real or imagined. Have fun and allow yourself to feel good, happy and excited!
Dance and shout if you feel like it, don’t hold back. Feel good about it.
Picturing the end result in your mind causes your subconscious to respond and fulfill your mental picture by making it your physical reality. It will help you see and create opportunities to bring that which you desire into fruition. You will be inspired in ways that you didn’t have to put much thought into. You will get creative, inspired thought. It might even surprise you when it hits, like wow, why hadn’t I thought of that sooner? With your new way of thinking, your subconscious must make it “so”.
Also, during this process a few negative thoughts will pop in, don’t fret. Quickly replace them with thoughts of what you want to happen and see yourself experiencing it (with feeling.)
For example, you have an important photo shoot coming up with dream clients. Instead of worrying and telling yourself you’re going to suck, immediately replace those thoughts with visions of you crushing your shoot. The client is smiling, marveling and happy about your shots, the models are having fun and the entire photos set is a buzz with positivity and excitement over the bomb as photos you captured. And now you can’t wait to share the great news with your loved ones!
Again, it has been said, that a positive thought is 1000 times more powerful than a negative one. Counter all negative thoughts this way and you will feel far better for it and you will change your life in the process. Also note, we have been in a routine way of thinking/being, so thinking positively is a muscle we have to exercise and build. Building muscle takes time.

*Visualization Technique*
Set aside several minutes a day to close your eyes and imagine your life after you have achieved your goal. Make it as vivid as possible:
- What are you wearing?
- How do you act?
- How are you feeling?
- What are you saying?
- What are you doing?
- What do you smell?
- Are you eating? How does it taste?
- What sounds are you hearing?
- Are you talking with someone? How are they responding?
3.Take Action!
Do something, anything, no matter how “small”.
Life’s catalogue is yours for the choosing. Flip thru its pages, what would you like to order?
Like anything you choose to order in actual shopping catalog, there is a cost. A fee.
When ordering from Life’s catalog its required currency is called ACTION.
“Take action”. I hear that statement thrown around often, however, the speaker rarely goes into detail as to what “taking action” requires or what it means, so here is what it means to me: Any step toward your goal, no matter how small, is a step toward reaching your goal.
Send out emails to potential clients, make a new business connection, contact people who have what you want and offer your services, start that blog and write at least 1 post, go to networking events and make 3 new friends…don’t know where to start for what you want?
Start with a Google search, that is also qualifies as you “taking action”. Taking action will likely inspire creative thought which will eventually, usually quickly, put you directly in the path of that which you desire.
The goal is to align yourself with situations/people that compliment or are on par with that which you desire.

4. Write an affirmation (started)
I easily earn more than 250,000 a year doing work that I love in photography and videography. I get paid to travel the world promoting beautiful destinations, partner with brands I love, sell branded merchandise and my paid subscription club. It feels so amazing to inspire my engaged audience to see the world and help give them effective tools for self-develop in creating a life that they love!
Please notice, my affirmation must is in the first person and present tense. For example: I am [FILL IN THE BLANK].
5. Recite Your Written Affirmation Daily
Every day, over and over, for 5 minutes a day (To make them even more powerful – Bonus 1: Recite while looking yourself in the eye, in the mirror. Bonus 2: Record your own mp3 reciting your affirmation and listen to it while sleeping.) Remember, repetition is what creates new beliefs in our subconscious so REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT…
Whatever, we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become reality” ~ Earl Nightingale. The definition of belief is “the repetition of same thoughts over and over for a long period of time.”
*6. Gratitude Journaling (BONUS)
My goal is to gratitude journal, at least, ½ hour before bed every night. For example, write, at least, 3 things you are grateful for everyday. Preferably, before bed (last 30 minutes before falling asleep is a critical time for influencing our subconscious. Why not sleep on something positive?).
For a peek at is my detailed journaling process, CLICK HERE.
*7. Scripting (BONUS)
Scripting is visualizations in written form. A process in which one journals, in vivid detail, AS IF they are already in possession of which they desire. It requires writing what your day “looks” like, start to finish. Allow yourself to feel the emotions you would experience on that beautiful, awesome day you’re writing about that has everything you desire and more.
That is it guys! What do you think? Is this something you might try out or have tried out? I would love to hear from you!
