Pumpkin and apple picking is one of my favorite seasonal things to do! Some might say it’s a children’s activity, but I could easily see myself visiting pumpkin patches and farms even after my children are grown.
I simply love being out in nature and seeing beautiful stretches of land and open sky. I appreciate it all, even the insects…as long as they don’t bother me, I wont bother them. In fact, I used to visit pumpkin patches well before I had children!

We had such beautiful weather too! There was minute hint of chill in the air, yet it felt warm. The skies were blue and the clouds puffy & white. The delicious aroma goods filled the air beckoning us all to hop on line.
Unfortunately, that line was too dang long! Whatever they had going in there must have been good because people were waiting by the dozens! We arrived in time to explore, play, pick pumpkins, but waiting on line would have taken too much of our time.
Gratefully, have a local farm that is much closer with baked good that will easily make us not miss what we didn’t get at Wilkes, haha!
Our day ended at a Mexican restaurant my husband found called La Chinita Poblana. It’s located on a picturesque block in Irvington, NY. A street lined with shops, restaurants, small boutiques, with a gorgeous view of Hudson river in the distance. Looks like the type of town I would like to go back to do antiquing or thrifting in. I will keep you all posted!
In conclusion, I hope you all enjoyed getting away with us and seeing what we got into for part of our week.
